Stratford Man Arrested For Breaking Into Vehicles In Shelton

The following information comes from a press release by Lt. Robert Kozlowsky of the Shelton Police Dept. It does not indicate convictions.

On August 24 at approximately 05:45 a.m., Shelton Police were sent to Sheehy Lane on a report of a male with a black hoodie and baseball cap going into vehicles. Officers arrived on scene and attempted to locate the suspect. One officer noticed a white Honda that appeared to be recently driven and took down the license plate. Officers continued to check the area, but could not locate the suspect. Later, officers noticed that the white Honda was gone.

Later that morning, detectives began to follow up on the incident. Detectives went to the residence where the vehicle was registered out of and located the Honda. In plain view inside the vehicle detectives saw a black hoodie, a baseball cap, and a flashlight.

Police spoke to a male at the residence who denied being in Shelton in the morning. While inside the residence, police saw a laptop bag with a name on it that is a person who lives on Sheehy Lane. Police contacted the resident who confirmed that a laptop and approximately $30,000 worth of electronic equipment were missing from his truck. The male was placed under arrest and police located credit cards and jewelry as well that were taken from another vehicle.
