Stratford Man Struck On Route 8 In Ansonia: Police
Motorist had exited his vehicle for unknown reason, according to police.
ANSONIA, CT — A 20-year-old Stratford man suffered life-threatening injuries Friday night after being struck while outside his vehicle on Route 8, according to state police.
The accident happened at around 10:51 p.m. on Route 8 southbound in Ansonia.
A Ram Big Horn truck driven by John Yoo, 47, of Southport, was traveling southbound in the left lane on Route 8 when he struck a Nissan Altima and the pedestrian, according to police.

The Altima was stopped in the left lane for an unknown reason, police said.
The driver of the Nissan, Jaiden Andreiz Ragsdale, 20, of Stratford, had gotten out of the car and was standing alongside his vehicle when the truck hit him, an initial investigation shows.

Ragsdale was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital. His condition was not available Monday morning.
Ragsdale’s passenger, Victor Alvarez, 20, of Bridgeport, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Bridgeport Hospital, according to a police report. The driver of the truck was not injured.
The accident remains under investigation.
