Teen Accused Of Hitting Pedestrian With Vehicle During Shelton Street Takeover Arrested: Police
Police said a Norwalk teen accused of hitting another teen with a vehicle during a street takeover event in Shelton was recently arrested.

SHELTON, CT — A Norwalk teen accused of hitting another teen with a vehicle during a street takeover event in Shelton last month was arrested Wednesday, according to police.
In a news release, Police Sgt. Colin Bitsco said officers were called to the 800 block of Bridgeport Avenue on Sept. 14 after receiving a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle during a suspected street takeover event in the area.
According to Bitsco, a 17-year-old sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

After further investigation, police used video evidence and witness accounts to identify the vehicle involved in the incident as a silver Lexus IS 300, Bitsco said.
The driver was identified as a 17-year-old Norwalk resident, who admitted during a voluntary interview with police to driving the vehicle and striking the pedestrian while performing a stunt, according to Bitsco.

The Norwalk teen also admitted to fleeing the scene immediately after the incident, Bitsco said.
The teen was arrested Wednesday and charged with reckless driving and evading responsibility.
He was released on a $25,000 court-set bond and is scheduled to appear in court next month, according to Bitsco.
Bitsco also noted additional charges or arrests related to last month's street takeover event may follow, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Shelton Police Department.
