Here's the buzz around town...

  1. February is Black History Month! Interested in learning more? Visit the . Or, head to or libraries to read the works of African American writers and artists.
  2. The National Weather Service reports that today will be sunny, with a high near 25 degrees. At night, skies will be mostly clear and the temperature will drop to a low around 8 degrees. Enjoy this day of no snow, because more is coming over the weekend.
  3. The 6th Annual Women & Heart Disease and 3rd Annual Caring Heart Award Program will be held from 5 - 8 p.m. at Grassy Hill Lodge in Derby. The guest speaker will be Dr. David Katz, a leading voice in health matters and principal inventor of the Overall Nutrition Quality Index utilized in the NuVal nutrition guidance program.   4. There will be a Board of Ethics meeting held at room 104 at 7 p.m. Although considerations of ethics complaints will be discussed during closed session, residents are permitted to speak during the public portion at the beginning of the meeting.
