As always, we start with a weather report from the National Weather Service. For today, sunny skies with a high near 80 degrees, much like yesterday. Also calm wind becoming south between six and nine mph. At night, scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after midnight. Increasing clouds, with a low around 60. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
Shelton Trails & Conservation posted a registration page for a guided hike, led by archaeologist Dr. Nick Bellantoni, just across the Monroe border. "If you haven't been to the newish Webb Mountain Discovery Zone yet, it's highly recommended," they say. The hike will take place from 9 - 11 a.m. on July 2. Appropriate for students entering 4th grade through adult. $15 per participant. Registration limited to 25 participants. Event is rain or shine.
