Thursday, June 16: Hiking With a Pro, PZC Meeting, Open Mic Night

If we say "Happy Hump Day" for Wednesday and "TGIF" for Friday, what do we say for Thursday?

  1. As always, we start with a weather report from the National Weather Service. For today, sunny skies with a high near 80 degrees, much like yesterday. Also calm wind becoming south between six and nine mph. At night, scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after midnight. Increasing clouds, with a low around 60. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
  2. Shelton Trails & Conservation posted a registration page for a guided hike, led by archaeologist Dr. Nick Bellantoni, just across the Monroe border. "If you haven't been to the newish Webb Mountain Discovery Zone yet, it's highly recommended," they say. The hike will take place from 9 - 11 a.m. on July 2. Appropriate for students entering 4th grade through adult. $15 per participant. Registration limited to 25 participants. Event is rain or shine.

  4. Come join John Hoyt as he hosts the new season on the Open Mic Night. Have some delicious food and drink  ll while supporting the local music scene. Sign up begins at 7:30 p.m., open mic time is from 8 - 11 p.m. As always there is no cover.
