The is offering FREE adult education summer classes, and ! GED and ESL adult education classes will be held from July 12 - August 18, every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Adult Learning Center at 415 Howe Ave. Registration is in-person. The RI Hospitality Association (RIHA) is proud to announce that Shelton native Lauren Spicer, who now lives in Johnston, RI, has been appointed Communications & Marketing Coordinator of the organization. In her new position, Lauren will be responsible for creating a strategic marketing plan to highlight the work of the Association, creating and implementing social media communication channels, managing the Association’s website, and engaging and communicating with members and educational partners. Prior to her appointment, Lauren served as RIHA’s Communication Intern. Congratulations, Lauren! Always great to see graduates going far.

Belated Happy Birthday wishings are in order for two Shelton natives, Nancy Roxo and Lauren Martin. Nancy turned 22 and Lauren turned 24 years old yesterday, July 11. In addition to having a 7/11 birthday, the day that 7-Eleven stores give away a free Slurpee drink treat, Nancy and Lauren share a birthday with actress Lisa Rinna, Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora and Italian fashion designer Giorgia Armani.
