Waterbury Woman Killed in Wrong-Way Crash

A 20-year-old Waterbury woman was driving the wrong way on I-84 and collided with another vehicle.

WTNH reports a 20-year-old Waterbury woman was killed in wrong-way crash on I-84. Two others were hurt.

Amanda Grenier was pronounced dead at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury.

The crash happened just after 11:00 p.m. Monday. According to state police, A Volvo driven by Grenier was traveling east in the westbound lanes between the exit 24 off ramp and the exit ramp. Her car collided with a Toyota that was in the middle of the three lanes.

Grenier was not wearing a seat belt, state police said.

The case is still under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to call state police at Troop A, 203-267-2200.
