It's hump day already. Time flies when you're in the news business!

- With the nonstop rain and drizzle we've had, and the muggy thickness in the air, The National Weather Service gives a much brighter outlook for today. During the day, expect sunny skies, with a high near 82. North wind 5 to 7 mph becoming southwest. At night, mostly clear with a low around 66. Don't expect the mild weather to last too long, though. The NWS is already predicting showers and thunderstorms for the coming weekend.
- Fun fact! Today is National Thrift Shop Day! Did you know that Yesterday's Consignment Shop on 513 How Ave. and Goodwill on Leavenworth Rd. have lots of hidden treasures? Celebrate the day by exploring shops and supporting local businesses. You may even have some items to donate!
- On Saturday, Sept. 10 from noon - 4 p.m., join the Chris Jones for Shelton campaign for a day of family fun for all ages! Enjoy a BBQ and activities for the children while supporting the Chris Jones for Mayor campaign! Cost: $20 per person, Children 12 years old and younger are free! - Sign Language Class is back by popular demand at . The new eight-week session will be held from September 16 - November 4 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. It will teach conversational sign language for beginners age 10 and up. Register on site, $65 per person, class size is limited. See flyer in pictures section for more details.
- Happy Birthday to Thomas Ballaro, who turns 23 years old on this fine day. Ballaro shares a birthday with bad-boy Robert DeNiro, movie vixen Mae West and the King Of The Wild Fronteir (Davy Crockett). Happy Birthday Tom!!!
