Hooray, it's hump day! Check out this list of summer classes for your kids.

- The of the Lower Naugatuck Valley is offering a hands-on, interactive art program at its Summer Camp. Led by Janet Zamparo, campers have a unique opportunity to develop creative thinking and problem solving through the arts. Camp is open Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. Children can attend our Summer Camp for one week, all ten weeks, or any combination. The weekly fee is $150 for 6-12 year olds and $100 for children 13-15. Additional siblings are $75 each per week. Hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. Children may bring their own snacks and lunch or purchase food from the on-site café. Free breakfast and lunch are available for children who qualify. - Mat Time Wrestling Camp, sponsored by Shelton Parks and Recreation, will be held for wrestlers ages 6-18 from July 25-July 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at . Bill Maloney, Head Wrestling Coach at Shelton High, is Camp Coordinator, and will be joined by Camp Clinician Ted Oczkowski, former Trumbull Head Wrestling Coach. Maloney, a CT Post High School Coach of the year, has compiled over 100 wins in his seven year tenure at Shelton. Oczkowski is a former CT State Coach of the year. Both have produced numerous All-State, New England and National finalists. Other area coaches will be on staff. The cost is $175 for full day (8:30-3:00) and $95 for half day (8:30-11:30 or 12-3). Registrations must be sent to or dropped off to the Shelton Parks & Recreation Department at 41 Church St. Applications are available at the department or at , 425 Bridgeport Ave. The camp is open to residents and non-residents. - is offering a 2011 Summer Program "Just For Kids" from July 25 - 29. Activity programs include crafts, a magician and a fitness session. Programs are from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and cost $60 per child per session. They are open for children ages 5-10. Attend one, a few, or all! Space is limited so register today! - The State of CT Judicial Branch, for the second year in a row and in collaboration with the League of Women Voters and the Museum of Connecticut History, is sponsoring “Day Trips with Kids,” an opportunity for children to have fun while learning about state government at the same time.Tours of the Connecticut Supreme Court, State Capitol and Museum of Connecticut History will occur on Tuesday, July 12, and Thursday, Aug. 11. Activities will include:
- A scavenger hunt in the Museum of Connecticut History, where exhibits trace the growth of the state and its role in the development of the nation;
- A visit to the State Capitol, a National Historic Landmark, where children will learn about the legislative process while viewing the House and Senate chambers and also visit the Hall of Flags, where flags carried into battle by Connecticut soldiers are displayed;
- A visit to the historic Connecticut Supreme Court courtroom, where the state’s most important legal rulings have occurred over the past century.
The program is recommended for children ages 8 and over. Information, including a schedule for both days and tour times, is available through the Judicial Branch’s website, at www.jud.ct.gov, or by calling the External Affairs Division at 860-757-2270.

- The is holding a youth photo contest! Kids old enough to hold a camera through 18 year olds are welcome to participate. Take a picture or pictures of whatever you want, and post the picture on the library’s Facebook page. The Huntington Photographic Society will be judging the entries on August 1, and will be giving prizes to different age groups and categories of photos.
