Woman Interrupts Burglary, Bites Man Accused Of Breaking Into Home: Shelton Police

Police said the woman fought with, bit and took pictures of the man, whose face was covered.

SHELTON, CT — A woman fought with, bit and took pictures of a man accused of burglarizing her Shelton home Friday afternoon, according to police.

In a news release, Police Capt. Robert Kozlowsky said a burglary was reported around 12:15 p.m. in the Huntington area of Shelton.

A 68-year-old woman told police she arrived home and noticed her door was slightly ajar. When the woman entered her house, she found a man with his face covered inside, Kozlowsky said.

The woman then got into a physical altercation with the man, during which the woman bit the man, according to Kozlowsky.

The man then fled from the woman's home, however she was able to take pictures of the man and his vehicle, Kozlowsky said.

The woman was evaluated by EMS, according to Kozlowsky.

Officers were able to use the woman's pictures to quickly identify the man and relayed the information to surrounding area police departments, Kozlowsky said.

David Pavlik, 57, of Seymour, was arrested a short time later in Waterbury with assistance from Connecticut State Police.

According to Kozlowsky, the investigation revealed Pavlik had previously performed work at the woman's house.

Pavlik was charged with home invasion, third-degree robbery and first-degree burglary. He was released on a $200,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court next month, Kozlowsky said.
