Wounded Derby Dog 'Thunda' Continues To Gain Strength: Police
"Thunda," the German Shepherd shot multiple times this month, is being treated at an animal hospital in Shelton.

DERBY, CT — "Thunda," the German Shepherd shot multiple times this month in Coon Hollow Park, continues to get better, according to Derby police.
"The doctor's took out his drains and the staples should be coming out by the end of the week!" authorities wrote on the department's Facebook page (see below).
Thunda is being treated at VCA Shoreline Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center in Shelton, where he reportedly is able to eat on his own and receive medications without issue.

He was found in the park by Derby police on April 1, and his owners have been arrested in connection with the shooting.
Stranja Perrin, 28, and Anthony Singletary, 27, who police described as being homeless, have been charged with animal cruelty, and weapons violations, among others.

Both remain in custody in lieu of bail (Perrin, $75,000; Singletary, $125,000), and they are scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court on May 12.
