You Could Win $30K in School Tuition Money
St. Lawrence school is holding a raffle fundraiser. The grand prize is $30,000 in tuition money to any school in the country.

If you've driven through Huntington Center lately, you've seen the huge banner sign on the lawn of St. Lawrence Church. The school is holding a raffle fundraiser, and the lucky winner will get $30,000 in tuition money to any public or private elementary, high school, college or university in the United States.
"We want to make it really clear that the prize is not specifically to St. Lawrence," said the school's principal, Martha Reitman.
Tickets cost $100 each. The raffle is open to anyone, and there is no limit to the amount of tickets you can buy.
"One family already purchased 15," Reitman said.
There are 1,000 tickets up for grabs and St. Lawrence must sell at least 400 to be able to proceed with the raffle. If fewer than 400 are sold, the raffle will be canceled and all purchasers will receive a full refund.
"We have sold 170 so far, which we feel is really good," Reitman said. A winner is scheduled to be drawn on June 11 at 7 p.m. in . The chosen one need not be present.
Want to try your luck? "Anybody can come into the school office between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. to purchase a ticket here," Reitman said. "All forms are also available on the website." (printable .pdf copy of entry form attached)
This isn't the first year St. Lawrence is holding the tuition raffle. In 2009, the church conducted it and gave away a $25,000 prize.
"This year Father [Michael] Jones, our pastor, said he'd give the school the raffle to do for raising funds for us," Reitman said. "This year, all proceeds will go St. Lawrence School and will be used to defer operating costs and supplies we need to pay for educating kids."
