Breakfast at the Park, Connecticut Mid-Amateur Golf Tournament, and MLK in CT

The Simsbury Junior Women's Club is hosting a Breakfast in the Park this morning at 9:30 a.m. Enjoy breakfast, meet some other members and learn about the many volunteer opportunities available through Simsbury Junior Women's Club. The breakfast will be held at Simsbury Farms.

The Connecticut Mid-Amatuer Golf Tournament begins today at Hop Meadow Country Club. The tournament is open to Connecticut amateur golfers who hold an active USGA handicap index not exceeding 6.4 that have reached their 25th birthday as of August 27, 2012. Approximately 120 players will compete  today to make the cut for Tuesday's championship.

Simsbury High School students that produced a documentary about Martin Luther King, Jr.'s time in Simsbury are working to raise $200,000 for a permanent memorial. For more information on the project visit the MLK in CT website.
