Busy Simsbury Road Slated For Repaving

The project will cause several road closures and delays on Tuesday, Sept. 10.

SIMSBURY, CT — A major road resurfacing project will start in Simsbury on Tuesday, with motorists being notified to be prepared.

The Simsbury Department of Public Works said the job will start Tuesday, Sept. 10, with the resurfacing of sections of West Mountain Road from Bushy Hill Road to Quorn Hunt Road.

"Delays are, unfortunately, inevitable as we pave this area," wrote the Simsbury DPW. "There will be road closures and detours as we work on this project. We recommend taking alternate routes, if possible."

Town officials said school buses, emergency vehicles, and local traffic will still be able to access the area.
