Here are some key tips to help safeguard yourself and enhance the overall health of the community.

1. Get vaccinated: It is highly recommended to get a flu shot to reduce your chances of catching the flu. While the vaccine does not guarantee complete immunity, it can help lessen the severity of symptoms if you do become infected. Keep in mind that flu vaccines are updated each year to combat new virus strains.

2. Avoid contact with sick individuals: Try to minimize contact with people who are visibly ill. If you notice someone displaying flu symptoms, it is best to avoid close contact whenever possible.

3. Practice good hand hygiene: Washing your hands regularly with soap and water is an effective way to prevent the spread of the flu virus. Remember that soap and water are more effective than alcohol-based sanitizers, so choose hand washing whenever possible.

4. Seek medical care if you develop symptoms: If you start experiencing flu-like symptoms, seek prompt medical attention. Consulting your doctor can help assess your risk and ensure you receive appropriate treatment to alleviate symptoms and stop the virus from spreading.
