Freezing Rain Could Slicken Monday Morning Commute for Simsbury Residents

Officials recommend clearing roofs, drainage areas and exhaust vents.

On the heels of a blizzard that dumped more than two feet on the area, the National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting a period of freezing rain  beginning early Monday morning.

"Rain, freezing rain, and sleet, becoming all rain after 3 p.m," the NWS forecasts for the Simsbury area on Monday. "High near 42. ... Chance of precipitation is 90%. New sleet accumulation of around an inch possible.

Though the ice and snowfall from this front will not be substantial, current road conditions and areas of fog could cause hazardous conditions for Monday morning.
