Letter to the Editor: Hampton for State Representative
Send Simsbury Patch letters to the editor to jeff.brush@patch.com.

I am writing to express my support for John Hampton in his race for State Representative. I have know John for about ten years and have found him to be a tireless worker for the town of Simsbury. He is constantly getting involved in projects which will improve life for our citizens. And, as deputy First Selectman, he has also been active with Mary Glassman in cost-saving regional initiatives.
John makes an effort to meet as many Simsbury citizens as possible, and he listens to their concerns. He is extremely open and accessible. He routinely holds office hours and responds to constituent calls and emails. He took the initiative to establish the annual celebration of Martin Luther King Day in Simsbury, in commemoration of King's time in Simsbury. He knows how to bring people together to get things done. I am sure these skills will serve him well in the legislature.
John initiated the first-ever Town of Simsbury Volunteer Expo and convened the Simsbury Senior Summit. He was instrumental in advancing the Town Charrette and the Route 10 Corridor Study. The Charrette led to Connecticut's first Form Based Code for the town center. The Route 10 Corridor Study laid the groundwork for responsible growth and expansion along our main street, while maintaining the town's character.

John really cares about Simsbury. I believe he will work hard in the legislature to promote economic growth, help small businesses expand and create jobs.
Please join me in supporting John Hampton on Election Day, November 6.
