Rep. Hampton Receives Committee, Leadership Assignments

Hampton will be Assistant Majority Leader, Ranking Member of the Internship Committee, and a member of the Commerce and Aging Committee.

From House Democrats: State Representative John K. Hampton (D-Simsbury) is pleased to have been reappointed to serve as Assistant Majority Leader for the 2017 Legislative Session.

“I am honored to have been appointed to a leadership position that will help me continue to be a strong voice for my constituents at the State Capitol. 2017 will be a challenging year for the state and the legislature. Nonetheless, I am excited to get to work on solving the problems facing our state.” Rep. Hampton said.

“Rep. Hampton is one of the most dedicated public servants in the General Assembly,” Speaker of the House Joe Aresimowicz (D-Berlin, Southington) said. “I am confident that his experience and work ethic will serve as great assets in his new role, and he will continue to be a strong advocate for the people of Simsbury.”

In addition to Assistant Majority Leader, Rep. Hampton will serve as Ranking Member of the Internship Committee and member of the Commerce and Aging Committees. The Connecticut General Assembly 2017 Regular Session began January 4th and adjourns June 7th.

John Hampton represents Simsbury’s 16th Assembly District.
