Several Simsbury Roads Still Closed After Storm

One day after the town and state were ravaged by rain and wind, several roads remain closed in Simsbury.

SIMSBURY, CT — One day after heavy winds and rains wreaked havoc on the state, some towns are still experiencing the storm's aftereffects.

Simsbury police Tuesday morning updated the road situation in town following Monday's story, reporting several road closures due to flooding and/or downed trees and utility lines.

As of 6 a.m. Tuesday, those closures include:

• R0ute 315 from Quarry Road to Old Well Tavern.

• Terry’s Plain Road from Route 315 to Goodrich.

• Nod Road from Route 185 to Ridgebury Road.

• Riverside Road (north) from Drake Hill Road to Terry’s Plain Road.

• Wilcox Road between Hopmeadow Street and Railroad Street.

• Town Forest Road between the Simsbury Highway Department and Nimrod Road.

• Sugar Loaf Cut between West Mountain Road and Westledge Road.

As always, police warned motorists to stay away from power lines, as they may still be active, and to obey road closure and detour signs.
