'Significant' Repave Of Simsbury Road Is This Week

Motorists are being asked to avoid the area through Thursday, Aug. 1.

SIMSBURY, CT — Motorists are being advised to avoid a section of local roadway this week as it is being resurfaced, with work expected to be done by Thursday, Aug. 1.

The Simsbury Department of Public Works said the "significant" project to repave West Mountain Road from Quorn Hunt Road south to Bushy Hill Road started on Tuesday.

"This project will continue over the next couple days, with the resurfacing hopefully being complete by the end of day Thursday, weather permitting," wrote Simsbury's public works department.

"We ask that you keep children and pets away from equipment and find alternate routes, if you can, as there will be delays moving through this area."
