Simsbury Election Results 2025: Mackstutis, Democrats Come Out On Top

Simsbury residents cast their ballots for several key local races on Election Day. Here are the latest results.

SIMSBURY, CT — The polls have now closed as Simsbury residents cast their votes for several key municipal positions in town.

And, in a hotly contested, three-way race for the town's top spot, the incumbent Democrat easily won a new term in office Tuesday night.

Incumbent Democratic First Selectman Wendy Mackstutis defeated Republican Heather Goetz and Petitioning hopeful Eric Sean Wellman, a former Democratic first selectman.

Mackstutis has 4,075 votes, while Goetz had 3,036 and Wellman 1,292, according to the Connecticut Secretary of the State's office.

Both Wellman and Goetz failed to earn enough votes to sit on the board of selectmen.

Earning spots on the Simsbury Board of Selectmen, however, were Democrats Curtis Looney, 4,800 votes; Diana Yeisley, 4,882; and Steven Antonio, 5,064.

Two Republicans were also elected to the board of selectmen: Mike Paine, 3,451 votes, and Kevin Beal, 3,098 votes.

As a result, Democrats keep their hold on the board, with a 4-2 margin of control.
