Simsbury Food Pantry To Have Emergency Hours For SNAP Clients This Week

The special hours are for Simsbury residents who are also receiving SNAP benefits, which have been suspended and/or reduced.

SIMSBURY, CT — The Town of Simsbury is hosting emergency food pantry hours on Thursday, Nov. 6, for local SNAP recipients.

Last Saturday, SNAP benefits for millions expired nationally, and those requiring the federal food assistance program are seeing both losses and reductions in their benefits due to the federal government shutdown.

As a result, the local food pantry located at the First Church of Christ in Simsbury, 689 Hopmeadow St., will have special hours from 2 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6.
