Simsbury Honors Heroes With Two Memorial Day Parades
The first parade is in Tariffville in the morning, with another one in Simsbury in the afternoon on Monday, May 27.
SIMSBURY, CT — Memorial Day is a doubly poignant event in Simsbury, with not one, but two, Memorial Day parades on the docket Monday, May 27.
Both events are organized by American Legion Post 84 and the VFW Post 1926, with one taking place in Simsbury and the other in the Simsbury village of Tariffville.
The first event is the Tariffville Memorial Day Parade, which steps off at 9 a.m. on Main Street, continues along Winthrop Street, and concludes with a ceremony at St. Bernard's Cemetery.

Then in the afternoon, the Simsbury Parade will start at 1 p.m. on Owens Brook by Liberty Bank, heading down Hopmeadow Street towards the Simsbury Veterans Memorial by the library.
There, the day's remembrances conclude at the memorial with a ceremony.

Closings
All town offices and schools are closed for the day on Monday, May 27, for the holiday, with both operating as normal on Tuesday, May 28.
