Simsbury Man Chosen For Olympic Ski Patrol Team: Report
NBC Connecticut highlighted Chuck Boyd of Simsbury, a volunteer at Ski Sundown who's ensuring skier safety at the 2022 winter Olympics.
SIMSBURY, CT — A Simsbury man was invited to the 2022 winter Olympics in Beijing — but not to compete, NBC Connecticut reported.
The TV station recently highlighted Chuck Boyd, a volunteer ski patrol at New Hartford's Ski Sundown who was one of 26 Americans chosen to join the Olympic skiing safety team.
As a patroller, Boyd's team is responsible for ensuring skier safety, including providing first aid and transporting injured skiers.

"I had no idea. It was a little bit of a shock," Boyd told NBC Connecticut about being chosen. "I appreciate it, you know?"
