Simsbury Roads Slammed By Storm, Many Roads Closed: Police
Simsbury police are urging motorists to exercise caution on local roadways, with several already closed due to fallen trees and wires.
SIMSBURY, CT — Local police are reporting several road closures due to Monday morning's nasty wind/rain storm.
The Simsbury Police Department said a total of eight local roadways are closed due to the weather, with motorists urged to take extra caution.
Police said routine call phone lines are down at the department, though 911 is still functioning.

"The town is currently experiencing numerous power outages, wires down, and road closures," wrote the SPD. "The routine phone lines for the police department and town hall are currently not functioning. The 911 system is functioning as normal."
Roads closed as of 6:30 a.m. Monday are:

• Hartford Road between Hopmeadow Street and East Weatogue Street.
• Nod Road between Hartford Road and Route 44 in Avon.
• Deer Park Road between Canal Street and Bushy Hill Road.
• Saddle Ridge Road between Lenora Road and Hedgehog Lane.
• Pheasant Lane between Hopmeadow Street and the cul-de-sac.
• Wilcox Road between Hopmeadow Street and Railroad Street.
• Bushy Hill Road between Stratton Brook Road and Woodside Circle South.
• Heritage Lane between Belden Forest and the cul-de-sac.
"As a reminder, do not go near power lines and obey all road closure/detour signs," wrote police.
