Simsbury Roadway Closed After Tree Falls On Wires: Police

SIMSBURY, CT — Breezy conditions in Simsbury appear to be making a mess of things in the traffic department, with one local roadway closed Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Simsbury Police Department, Hop Brook Road is closed between Great Pond Road and Brook Drive due to a fallen tree on utility lines in that area.

Police, who issued an alert at noon Tuesday on the situation, said motorists should follow all detours in place.

This incident comes hours after a vehicle slammed into a utility pole on Route 167 (Bushy Hill Road), prompting that state roadway's closure for much of the day Tuesday.
