Multiple Simsbury Roads Closed Due To Storm: UPDATE

Sunday/Monday's rain and wind storm has taken down trees in multiple parts of town.

SIMSBURY, CT — Multiple roadways in Simsbury were closed due to downed trees/branches, including some on power lines, on Monday, according to the state Department of Transportation and local police.

According to the DOT, Simsbury's Route 309 (North Canton Road) is closed between Pinnacle Ridge Farms and Westledge Road.

State officials report that a tree is down with "power lines involved."

The state is being hit with a wind and rain storm that started Sunday and is expected to continue today.

This situation was first reported at 5:13 a.m., and it is "unknown" when the scene will be cleared.

Meanwhile, the Simsbury Police Department said the following roads are closed:

• Hemlock Lane is closed between Oak Glen and Hickory Hill.

• Firetown at Whitcomb Drive (tree down with wires).

• Old Farms Road between Joshua Drive and Great Pond Road (tree down with wires involved)
