Simsbury Schools To Close Early Due To Heat

SIMSBURY, CT — The Simsbury School System announced Wednesday it will dismiss early on Thursday due to the early September heat wave this week.

The early dismissal will be on Thursday, Sept. 7, when temperatures are expected into the 90s with high humidity.

This is so students will be out of the buildings, which are mostly not air conditioned, during the hottest part of the day.

It's a step other school districts have undertaken to combat the hot-weather spell.
