Simsbury To Unveil Splash Pad Plan: UPDATE
The town is hosting a public information forum on Monday, June 30, about plans to add a popular summer recreational feature at a local park.

SIMSBURY, CT — Folks curious about the town's plan to build a splash pad at a Simsbury park are invited to a special information session on Monday, June 30.
The Town of Simsbury is hosting a splash pad informational workshop at 5:30 p.m. that day at the Memorial Park Pool, which is located at 52 Plank Hill Road, Simsbury.
Splash pads are water features that allow the community to cool off via a variety of water jets, fountains, and other water-throwing devices.

Simsbury First Selectman Wendy Mackstutis said this splash pad plan, which would replace the swimming pool at the park, is in the early stages.
She said full funding for the project has yet to be approved and/or secured.
It's been estimated that it would cost $950,000 for a splash pad, while replacing the aging Memorial Park pool would cost millions, Mackstutis said.
"We are in the process of looking at all Capital projects to figure out how to pay for the town's many capital needs with the least impact to our taxpayers," she wrote.
