Travel Down Memory Lane In Avon (And Stay There)
The Avon Senior Center is hosting a free program for people of all ages Tuesday, April 22, that will help folks sharpen their memory skills.
AVON, CT — The local senior center is hosting a program aimed at helping folks travel down memory lane consistently ... and not forget.
The Avon Senior Center, 635 W. Avon Road, Avon, is hosting Dr. Wendy Hurwitz on Tuesday, April 22, for a free program called "Memory Tips."
It will take place from 1 to 2 p.m.

The program looks at so-called "memory athletes," people with photographic memories who compete in all sorts of memory competitions.
"Did you know that a recent study from Stanford University suggests that the techniques used by memory athletes can be taught, learned, and create changes in the brain that enhance memory skill?" wrote Hurwitz.

This program is free and open to all ages, regardless of senior center membership.
A graduate of Yale University School of Medicine, Hurwitz is a nationally recognized expert on stress and mind-body medicine and is a former medical researcher for ABC News.
