Water Main Break Causing Lengthy Traffic Issues In Simsbury

The incident happened on Thursday, July 31, with road closures expected as repairs begin on Monday, Aug. 4.

SIMSBURY, CT — A broken water main on Thursday badly damaged a Simsbury roadway, prompting the need for extensive repairs and road closures.

According to the Simsbury Department of Public Works Friday, an Aquarion water main broke on Thursday, July 31, on Seminary Road, causing significant damage to the road surface.

Simsbury officials said Aquarion’s contractors will be on-site beginning Monday, Aug. 4, to make repairs.

"This work, as well as the Town's paving work, will result in periodic road closures on Seminary Road throughout the week of Aug. 4 during the hours of 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.," wrote the town in a statement Friday. "We understand this is inconvenient and appreciate your continued patience."
