Service Back After Water Main Rupture Impacts Simsbury: UPDATE

The situation slowed traffic and had shut off water service for that area.

SIMSBURY, CT — Traffic and water service was impacted Wednesday morning after a water main break, with local officials later in the day announcing that necessary repairs were complete.

According to the Simsbury Public Works Department, which posted an alert just before 9:30 a.m., the water main rupture was on Walker Drive.'

"If you are a resident in this area, you will temporarily be without water," wrote the town.

In addition, the situation resulted in only one lane of traffic being open for access, the town wrote.

At 12:29 p.m. Wednesday, the town's public works department said water service had returned.
