Well-Known Simsbury Restaurateur To Appear On Food Network Show

SIMSBURY, CT — A prominent local chef and restaurateur will appear on a popular Food Network show starring an iconic celebrity chef next month.

According to Millwright's, a well-known restaurant at 77 West St., Simsbury, its chef and owner, Tyler Anderson, again, will be appearing on the Food Network.

The award-winning culinary craftsman will appear on "BBQ Brawl," whose sixth season will be broadcast on The Food Network on June 1. It is hosted by legendary Food Network icon Bobby Flay.

Millwright's said the first show will be broadcast at 9 p.m. that night, and it will be available for streaming the next day on Max.

A Connecticut transplant native to California, Anderson has regularly been nominated for the prestigious James Beard Awards and has been named the CT Chef of the Year, according to his biography on the Millwright's website.

Anderson has appeared on other Food Network shows in the past, including "Top Chef", "Chopped," and "Beat Bobby Flay."

"BBQ Brawl" is a regular staple of The Food Network lineup and it features some of the country's top chefs competing against each other in a BBQ competition, coached, of course, by Flay and his cohorts.

The series was filmed at the Star Hill Ranch in Austin, Texas, according to The Food Network.

“This season has something for everyone, whether you are a professional grill master, a weekend warrior, or simply love the smoky char of barbecue done right,” said Flay on The Food Network's website promoting the show.

“Summertime heralds outdoor cooking, and BBQ Brawl celebrates all that entails with a healthy dose of competition to keep it exciting.”
