Cap Making Factory in Southbury Bouncing Back After Severe Fire

The fire damaged the factory in late April.

After a fire heavily damaged the building that housed Romantic Manufacturing Factory, the business is slowly coming back, the Republican-American reports.

The factory, located at 1200 Main Street South makes cosmetic container caps.

The fire, that is believed to be electrical, erupted in late April and caused damages worth $4.4 million, the paper reports. Between 40 and 50 of the 107 employees stayed on after the fire to help clean up. Now 87 employees are back and have moved to the rear section while the front rooms of the factory undergo repairs.

The owner, Robert Pecci told the paper the factory was able to recover and the company will come back stronger than before.

Pecci is grateful to all those who helped following the fire including the firefighters, the employees, his competitors and his customers, the paper reports.
