Gap To Close Southbury Store: Report
The national clothing retailer will reportedly close its Southbury location in the coming months, according to a report.
SOUTHBURY, CT — Gap will be closing its store in Southbury in the coming months, according to Hearst Connecticut Media.
The owner of the retail center where the shop is located said Gap gave notice that it will be moving out of its 9,628-square-foot space, Hearst reported.
The store is next to ShopRite in the Southbury Green Plaza on Main Street South. Employees have been informed of the closure.

Gap has eight other stores in Connecticut in Mashantucket, Avon, West Hartford, Hamden, Danbury, Westport, Fairfield, and Clinton.

The San Francisco-based company has three other clothing brands: Old Navy, Banana Republic, and Athleta. The Gap recently reported strong second-quarter sales that exceeded expectations, according to Reuters.
In 2023, the company announced it would close about 350 stores, including a Banana Republic in Stamford. The Gap also closed its Stamford Town Center location in 2021 after almost 40 years in the mall.
