Inspired by Nature, Love, and God, Gluck Announces First Poetry Book

Southbury's Orenaug Mountain Publishing Releases Muse by Woodbury Poet

SOUTHBURY, Connecticut - Woodbury resident Samuel Gluck, who wrote his first poem in the 1970’s, is the author of the latest poetry collection published by Orenaug Mountain Publishing. In “Muse,” Gluck’s writing reflects a lifetime of experience as he bears his soul in poems and lyrics that are inspired by nature, by love, and by God, and reflects his time as a yoga and meditation instructor at Pace University and throughout the New York area.

“The writings in Muse span 55 years, so the entirety of my adult life, whatever that is,” said Gluck. “They are frozen moments, instances and visions of events, and/or circumstances in my life or abstractions. Some are songs that I had previously composed and recorded.”

Gluck added: “Mostly they are pictures in my mind and/or a doorway. I feel they are each their own entity, concept, idea, experience, or event emanating from, and through my being. I don't feel I have any ownership. They float around and, if I am lucky, I may be able to catch one. ‘Catch Me If You Can’ sums it up.”

Bound to appeal to a variety of readers, Gluck’s writing is at times angry (Goddamn Blues), caring (Matters of the Heart), contemplative (I Am), gentle (Who Are You?), humorous (Radiator Man), lyrical (Help Me, Dear Jesus), personal (Destination), romantic (Un Poeme Pour Murielle), sad (Sole Survivor), sexy (Through the Dark), and silly (Purdy Gurl).

“There truly is something for everyone in this collection,” said Ed Dzitko, managing partner at Orenaug Mountain Publishing. “We’re happy to have helped Sam with this project, and we hope many, many people will enjoy his writing.”
