Local Hero: Kenneth W. Korsu Quietly Makes Life Better In Southbury
We all know someone who's making a difference. Here's one local resident who is having an impact in Southbury.

SOUTHBURY, CT — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Why do you believe the local hero should be recognized or honored?
LT Kenneth Korsu served our country with the 101st Airborne Division, as a Forward Observer developing strong leadership skills, during the Vietnam War. Despite being wounded twice, being awarded one Purple Heart, two Bronze Stars for Valor, considered for the Silver Star, he served our country well and was honorably discharged.
Ken started his career in Human Resources for a variety of for profit and not for profit companies. Ken successfully negotiated over 30 labor agreements with unions located in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Unions of note were Teamsters and Steelworkers and AFMSE.
Being very civic minded, Ken devoted his time and leadership skills to the Town of Southbury, where he served on the Board of Finance and was elected a Selectman on the Board of Selectmen for Southbury.
Ken has been a lifelong member of the Local VFW Post 1607, serving for over 20 plus years in the positions of Adjutant, Quartermaster and currently as Commander.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the local hero?
Ken is very family oriented, but also civic minded and wants what is best for the Town and the Country.
