SOUTHBURY, CT — Gail Louise Westover, 66, of Southbury, peacefully passed away in her home early Tuesday morning, Feb. 27, 2024 after a long battle with cancer. Gail was born in Mahopac, NY on July 23, 1957. A daughter of the late Ruth M. Westover and Robert E. Westover Sr. of Southbury. Gail was the oldest of 3 children.
Gail worked in the hospitality industry for most of her life, which is a skill set she passed down to both of her daughters. As the years passed, she shifted her interest from restaurants to hospitality in nursing and rehabilitation facilities. This better suited her love of taking care of others.

After growing up in Connecticut, she moved to New Hampshire in the mid 80s, where she grew her family and raised her daughters before returning to Connecticut after the passing of her father. Upon returning to Connecticut, she moved back into her childhood home, where she remained a resident of “the hill” (if you know, you know) for the remainder of her life.
Gail enjoyed all things nautical, including spending much time on the water and sunbathing every chance she could. She loved to go on weekend camping trips when her children were younger, as well as hopping on the back of a motorcycle with her brother.
