Obituary: Lawrence 'Larry' Maye, 69, Of Southbury
Larry managed and oversaw grounds maintenance, first at Fairfield Hills Hospital in Newtown, and later at Connecticut Valley Hospital.

SOUTHBURY, CT — Lawrence "Larry" Maye of Southbury, loving husband and father, passed away peacefully with family by his side on March 27. Lawrence was born on April 28, 1954, in Bridgeport, CT to parents Jacques and Mary Maye.
He was a dedicated employee at Fairfield Hills Hospital in Newtown managing and overseeing grounds maintenance for 23 years until it closed in 1996. Larry then transferred to Connecticut Valley Hospital, where he worked for another 16 years as head of grounds maintenance before retiring.

Lawrence had a strong passion for travel. He’s been to most of Europe, Canada, the Caribbean, Greece, Hawaii, Philippines, Iceland, Morocco and many other exotic destinations. Larry also used his time to volunteer on the Historical Tree Restoration Committee in Southbury for 4 years.
Lawrence is survived by his loving wife Juanita of Southbury, daughter Lanita of Sandy Hook, his favorite cat George, brother Jacques Maye of Reno, several cousins, and many nephews and nieces.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home in Southbury located at 235 Main Street N. A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street S., Southbury. Burial will immediately follow at St. Rose Cemetery in Newtown.
