Yes I am the wife and mother of police officers. My husband is a 37 year veteran of the Bridgeport police department. He has retired in 2022 as a deputy chief of police. My son is a police officer for 17 years for the Southbury police department. He is a sergeant and resides in Southbury as well. We have been residents of Southbury for 33 years

Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?
No

Previous public office, appointive or elective:
I was appointed as a member of the Southbury economic development commission for 16 years with the last 14 years spent as the chairman. Also I have been appointed to many task forces and to the charter revision committee

Why are you seeking this office?
I would like to consider myself as a voice for all residents listening and making the best decisions for all people of Southbury

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
Keeping the taxes as low as possible by being a conservator of the town budget. Spending money in a mindful way considering all tax payers

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I think I bring 17 years of experience being a public servant and volunteer for our town

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
I plan on taking on each challenge with respect for all our residents with compromise and doing what’s right aligning with my moral compass

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Life experience and being a resident for many years helps me know what is right for our town

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
My dad. Never quit and treat every person with respect and kindness no matter what affiliation or opinion. Listen and try to come to a common resolution. Difficult at times but we all are very similar if you listen to one another

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I really look forward to representing our town as a member of the Board of Selectmen.
