Recommendations for Southbury Corporate Park to be Presented to Board of Finance

The Economic Development Commission has come with several uses for the land that will be presented to the Board of Finance on Oct. 14.

The Southbury Economic Development Commission will release the findings of its study for possible uses of the Southbury Corporate Park site to the Board of Finance on Oct. 14, the Republican-American reports.

The 202-acre property is located along Interstate 84 between Lakeside and Ichabod roads.

The commission has spent six months studying how to generate revenue from the property, the paper reports. Previously, town leaders thought the site could be used for corporate tenants. But a study in 2012 found that commercial development on the land would be very difficult due to the land’s natural features and recommended the land be left undisturbed.
