Southbury Police Investigating Vandalism And Burglary At Ballantine And Settlers Parks
Southbury police are investigating vandalism and theft at Ballantine and Settlers Parks; officials urge the public to share any information.
SOUTHBURY, CT — Police are investigating extensive vandalism and theft reported at two Southbury parks over the Thanksgiving weekend.
According to the Southbury Police Department, damage occurred sometime between Nov. 26 and Nov. 30 at Ballantine Park and Settlers Park. Officers said the pavilion at Ballantine Park and the kitchen area at Settlers Park sustained heavy damage.
Restrooms were demolished, cabinetry was broken, and fire extinguishers were discharged inside a building, police said. Equipment belonging to the parks and recreation department was also reported stolen.
