Southbury Animal Control Warns Of 'Uptick' In Rabid Wildlife

Residents should keep an eye on their pets.

SOUTHBURY, CT — Southbury is seeing an "uptick in confirmed rabid wildlife" in the area, Southbury Animal Control announced on Facebook Tuesday.

As a result, residents are urged to be on the lookout for such creatures in an effort to keep their own pets safe.

"This might be a good time to make sure that your pets are up to date with their rabies vaccinations," officials wrote. "Some common symptoms of rabies can be unprovoked aggression, difficulty walking, and excess salivation."
