SOUTHINGTON, CT — A German shepherd found by the town wandering the streets of Southington now has a name, but sadly he doesn't have an owner.

As a result, the Town of Southington's animal control department is putting "Zeke" up for adoption as enough time has lapsed between being found and someone not claiming him.

According to the department's Facebook page, no one claimed the cute dog, but whoever chooses to adopt him should probably have experience with the breed.

"We are looking for someone with breed experience since he is young, large and will need an experienced handler," the town wrote.

The department is also asking that prospective owners not have any other dogs if possible.
