Alzheimer's Group In Southington Hosting Caregiver Program
The three-part caregiver program is over three weeks on Sept. 24, Oct. 1, and Oct. 8.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — The Alzheimer's Association's Southington office is hosting a three-part educational program on caring for somebody with dementia starting next week.
The program, called "The Empowered Caregiver" will take place at the Alzheimer's Association Chapter Office at 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington.
It will happen in three installments on Tuesdays — Sept. 24, Oct. 1, and Oct. 8 — from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The first week will deal with "building foundations of caregiving and supporting independence."
The second week is about communicating effectively and responding to dementia-related behaviors.

And the final sessoin is on exploring care and support services.
"Caring for someone living with dementia brings a unique set of challenges and rewards," reads an Alzheimer's Association announcement of the program.
"Learn to navigate the responsibilities of caregiving in this education program series."
