'Bright Lights Christmas Festival' To Transform Southington Green
One of Southington's most anticipated holiday celebrations will take place later this week.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — One of the holiday season's most anticipated events in Southington will take place this week at the town's beloved green.
Southington's annual downtown holiday festival, the Bright Lights Christmas Festival, is in conjunction with the lighting of the Southington Town Green.
Even better, this is a free event for families, and it will take place on Friday, Dec. 5, from 5:30 to 8 pm.

The event kicks off with the lighting of the town green at the Mobile Stage.
Then, folks are treated to a veritable holiday wonderland of food, fun, and the joy of the season.

Just some of the highlights include:
• Polar Express children's train rides.
• Visits with Santa and North Pole letter-writing.
• A candy cane scavenger hunt.
• A bonfire with s'mores.
• A Christmas tag sale, crafts, raffles, etc.
• And a whole litany of Christmas music from several different performers.
Multiple nonprofit agencies are also helping out by hosting activities at the event, including the Southington Rotary and the United Way.
