Bristol Hospital Announces Layoffs: Reports

BRISTOL, CT — Bristol Hospital is laying off several staff members, as the fiscally troubled hospital copes with losses attributed to increasing costs and Medicare abuse, according to multiple reports.

WVIT Channel 30 reports that a total of 61 positions are being eliminated, with 21 current staff members facing layoffs and the other positions vacant or reworked.

According to WFSB Channel 3, Bristol Hospital lost $13 million in the most recent fiscal year.
