Celebrate Good Mental Health At Southington Church's Block Party
The event will take place on Sunday, May 18, at the church, which is located on Main Street.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A local church on Sunday is hosting a major celebration that also aims to educate about the importance of good mental health.
The First Congregational Church of Southington will host a free "Community Block Party" on Sunday, May 18, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the church's 37 Main St. location.
Specifically, the church's "WISE" organization — an acronym for "welcoming, inclusive, supportive, and engaged" — is putting on a fun and educational event for all.

WISE is especially active in promoting positive mental health, and it is hosting other nonprofits on Sunday, dedicated to "improving the well-being of the community."
The day of fun will include live music and a DJ, inflatable obstacle courses, cotton candy/snow cones/popcorn, face painting, and balloon animals.

In addition to all of that, the day's events will feature organizations and programs that aspire to raise awareness about mental health.
Visitors from surrounding towns are welcome to attend as well.
The rain date is Sunday, May 25.
The Town of Southington saidthe nearby Riccio Way municipal parking lot will be closed due to the community event at the church.
