Crash Cleared On I-84 In Southington: UPDATE

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A serious crash on Interstate 84 in Southington on Thursday afternoon caused a traffic jam on the highway, according to the state Department of Transportation, but it has since been cleared.

The DOT reports a single vehicle crashed between exits 31 and 32 on I-84 East, causing a 2-mile traffic backup in that area, with the right and center lanes closed.

The accident was first reported at 1:37 p.m., and it is no longer listed on the DOT's incident report.
