Detours To Go Up For Weeks At Busy Southington Roadway: Police

Traffic will be impacted for three weeks starting on Monday, April 14, according to Southington police.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Southington police said Friday a busy section of roadway in Plantsville will be subject to detours due to ongoing road work.

According to the Southington Police Department, the detours will go up on Monday, April 14, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Main Street.

Police said southbound traffic will be detoured from Main Street to West Main Street, Marion Avenue, Atwater Street, and South Main Street.

Meanwhile, police said eastbound traffic on West Main Street will be detoured from West Main Street to Main Street to Carter Lane to Old Turnpike to Mulberry Street and South Main Street.

According to police, northbound traffic on South Main Street will flow normally.

It is estimated this detour will remain in place Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for approximately three weeks, police said.

The SPD said all emergency vehicles and school buses will still be able to travel southbound on South Main Street.
